Olivia Newton-John says she’s using cannabis to treat the pain caused by her stage four breast cancer, following her devastating diagnosis.
The English-born, Australian-raised star said that although she had used the drug recreationally a few times as a young adult, she was nervous about taking it at first.
But, she tells People magazine: ‘I decided I would use everything I could to get stronger.’
Now, says Olivia, 70, she takes the drug every morning, and at regular intervals throughout the day, and is seeing the benefits.
‘My husband hands me all these herbs every morning and makes me a green algae drink,’ she says. ‘He grows the plants and makes them into liquid for me. I take drops maybe four to five times a day.’
Olivia is married to natural health entrepreneur John Easterling, 66, and they live at a ranch in Southern California, where cannabis is legal for both medicinal and recreational use.

Along with her cancer battle, the Grease star is also recovering from a pelvis fracture after her cancer spread to her bones and damaged her sacrum.
A few months after her fracture, it was being reported in January that the Xanadu star had taken a turn for the worst and had ‘days to live’.
A representative for the eighties icon immediately spoke out regarding the rumors calling them ‘ridiculous’ and ‘crap.’
Following her rep’s comments, Olivia took to Facebook with a video showing that she was alive and well.
